The Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in to Ghana & Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Ghana! Your adventure starts today as you step foot in Kotoka international airport. We’ll arrange for a private shuttle that will take you to the luxurious Kempenski Hotel in no time. Once you have settled in, take the rest of the afternoon to relax. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a scrumptious dinner with myself & Rochelle at a local restaurant as we go over the tour briefing. Your Ghana adventure is about to begin, we can’t wait to meet you all!

Day 2 – Touring Historic Accra
Your Ghana adventure begins with a visit to Accra, Ghana’s bustling capital. We’ll start the day by touring the city’s beating heart, going to the local markets bursting with new smells, tastes, and colours. To get even closer to Ghanaian culture, we’ll have the chance to enjoy an authentic Ghanaian drumming lesson at the art center. Feel these ancestral rhythms and enjoy an in-depth look at what makes the people unique.
Our tour will take us to W.E.B Dubois memorial museum, the Black Star National Square, and the Independence Arch, all built by Ghana’s first democratic government. As we walk across these spaces, we’ll get to know part of the country’s convoluted political past.
Take a break by eating at a local restaurant full of mouthwatering dishes: it’s the best way to relax and enjoy the city!

Day 3 – Exploring Historic Kumasi
Today we’ll head to Kumasi (30 minute flight), the long-lost capital of the powerful Ashanti kingdom. The second largest city in the country still drips with Ashanti traditions.
Once in Kumasi, we’ll explore the traditions that still linger below the surface. The day starts with a visit to the traditional Adinkra village. Here, you’ll enjoy an authentic Kente weaving and stamp printing experience, followed by a tour at a local cocoa farm where we’ll get to know how these beans became the best-quality cocoa in the world.
Want to get even deeper into the local culture?
You’ll have the chance to attend your own Asante naming ceremony where the elders will give you a soul and a spirit name.
Return to Accra later that evening

Day 4 – Hang Out With Myself & Rochelle
Start the day with breakfast and then spend some time with your hosts Rochelle & Natural Ghana Girl. Visit some of their favorite destinations in Accra and visit Crazy Burger (with vegan options). There will be a few other surprises along the way!

Day 5 – Assin Manso Slave River & Elmina Slave Dungeon
Get knee-deep into Ghana’s slavery history by stepping on the path of thousands of the enslaved captives. Our journey will begin in Donkor Nsuo, or the slave river, where prisoners had the chance to bathe before a three-week naked trek through the dense forest.
Then, we’ll go back to the city and visit the Elmina Slave Dungeon, in the bowels of the dungeon. Listen to first-hand accounts of the country’s grueling slavery route and go up to the Door of Return, the last frontier between the dungeons and the huge slave ships waiting at the port.
Afterwards, we’ll return to Coconut Grove where you’ll have the time to dine, ride local horses, and relax.

Moving from the ordinary, you get to live like Royalty. Ridge Royal Hotel takes you to the ridge of comfort and luxury in the best style possible. Situated in the historic City of Cape Coast, Ghana. Day 6 – Cape Coast and Kakum Canopy Park
The next day we will continue to the Cape Coast Slave Dungeon (Fort Carlsborg), which was under Swedish administration.
Experience a walk through the Door of No Return, marking the beginning of a perilous journey of our ancestors. Only this time we will also experience a return through the same doors.
Take a walk through the ancestral Cape Coast township.
After lunch, visit the Kakum National Park, home to endangered species such as the forest elephant, the bongo antelope, and the Diana monkey. The forest also provides an opportunity to spot much of Ghana’s indigenous plant life, as well as its rare butterflies and birds. The canopy walkway is the longest and highest of its kind in West Africa.

Day 7 – Contemporary Art and Design Tour
We’re starting the day with a contemporary Art and Design tour of Accra including a visit to the Artists Alliance Art Gallery, the fantasy Coffin makers, who make coffins to reflect a person’s affiliation, Nubuke Foundation, and The Shop Accra.
We’ll have lunch at a local restaurant with local cocktails.

Day 8 – Torgorme Village Community
Come with us to this Volta region village called Torgorme where we Learn about pottery and experience the traditional naming ceremony normally performed for babies after birth but can also be adopted even as an adult! We can also participate in local fishing and enjoy fresh river swimming and activities
Join us for a farewell dinner!!!

Day 9 – Departure
You will be taken to the airport three hours ahead of your departure time.
